In 2005 Stud owner Kraai Kamffer was looking at a horse for a client, when 10 stables down, she caught his eye, and in her words was “eternally lost in love” with Beach Haven On Track.
At the time breeding was not on her agenda, until the late Patrick Brown told her that she had something really special in him. With her own Selle Francois mare, Katanga Quit Sometimes, a beautiful match was conceivable.
And so in 2007, White Waters Warmblood Stud was born.
With Kraai’s background in breeding in her time with the SANDF, and the excellent guidance and support from Frank Dittman, the owner of the old Brandenburg Stud in the Midlands, she learned which stallion should go to which mare, and why some combinations work and others don’t – it’s an art, and it’s complicated with a lot of feel involved.
Her goal is to continue to breed affordable warmbloods, with amazing temperaments, good healthy feet, straight well-formed front legs, powerful hind legs, and athletic ability beyond comparison. She believes that temperament is 80% of any horse’s success in competition. And so right from the start she carefully selected the mares that she put On Track to, exploring the depth of the bloodlines, and choosing combinations whose potential results gave that feeling of excitement.
White Waters has for two decades been successful in breeding offspring that has ticked all the boxes and proved to be even better than the sire and the dam.
All our offspring are registered with the Warmblood Society. Below is a list of them, the pedigree data supplied live from the Sporthorse Data Registry. They are listed by the year of their birth.
